Newcastleton Cycling FestivalOn road, off road & MTB events to suit all; enthusiasts, fanatics or keen cyclists. Eight days of organised rides, competitions, sportives, sprints, races & side shows.

24 ExposureCulminating in the European & UK Solo MTB Championship 12 + 24 Hours of Exposure weekend April 7/8 th.

Come for an event, a few days or the week.

Newcastleton, is THE Scottish Borders bike friendly village. We have accommodation to suit all needs, friendly pubs, hotels and cafes.

Saturday 31st March – Day 1 Newcastleton Cross Borders Classic, 2 Day Sportive fuelled by Accelerade.

Registration opens 7 am village hall

Sportive starts between 8 - 9 am from Douglas Square. Scotland/English loop - day 1, 2 loops; a 75 mile or 50 mile.

Two feed stations; food & free nutrition drink from Accelerade

Tech support by CycleShack

Chip timing, broom wagon, toilets and showers

Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. 

£20 entry fee

Sunday 1st April - Day 2

Monday 2nd April   - Adventures Day at Rock UK

For all the family, using swimming pool, canoeing, zip wire, rock climbing, team building tasks, water walzers. 

A rest day for cyclists and a chance for some down time with the family, or

An option for an mtb ride at Newcastleton 7stanes.

Tuesday 3rd April  Dalbeattie 7stanes  day out for riders

Dalbeattie 7stanes ride, a day out for cyclists leaving in vehicles from the Douglas Square at 10am till 5pm,

Lunch at Dalbeattie. 

Skills & coaching incl etc.

Wednesday 4th April
Newcastleton to Kielder  & back, circa 40 miles MTB trails in the forests

The ride will take 5 hours; out to Kielder via the route used by The Montane Kielder 100.  

Fuel stop for tea and cakes at Dukes Pantry tea rooms before heading back.

Leave village at 10 am finish 3pm.

Rock UK will be open during the day for the ones left behind! 

Thursday 5th April  - Copshaw Cracker Hill Climb

6pm start

Road/Hill climb starting from Douglas square, any bicycle allowed must have lights!

Riders starting every minute and finish by ringing the Bell at the top of the hill. 

Its 800ft of climbing over 4 miles entry £4.

Spot prizes on offer.

Thursday 5th MTB Urban Street race

Venue - Douglas Square

MTB Urban Street race around the village with the start  finish in Douglas square starts 4pm.  90 sec lap of the village using urban features in and around Douglas Square, the race has a knock out format 4 riders per race 2 go through 2 go out, with an A final and a B final.

Friday 6th April Practise Day, Rock UK

1pm Orienteering Eggstravaganza!

Families and children egg hunt

Practice is open for The 24 + 12 Hours Of Exposure European Solo Championships from 2 pm till 6pm

4pm Kids race organised by Rock UK.

7pm Pasta party along with local music/dancing and the opening ceremony for the Race all take place at the Sports Hall at Rock UK

Saturday 7th April 24 + 12 Hours of Exposure European Solo Championships

Starts at 12 noon from Douglas Square

Led out by the piper &  Copshaw Common Riders

Sign on ceremony starts from 11am in the Square.

Midnight finish of the 12 hour race.

Following riders departure Copshaw Common Riders host an afternoon of fun and frolics in the square for all. From 12:30 onwards

Sunday 8th April

Race finishes 12 noon at Rock UK, prize presentation at Rock UK.
