The Branch was formed in 1947 after a meeting in the Drill Hall at North Liddle Street.

The committee purchased premises in Montague Street where the social club was formed and opened in 1953. It remained there until 1977. In the meantime the Mechanics Hall at 3a North Hermitage Street was purchased and opened at 7 minutes past 7 on the 7th July 1977 but as with many businesses in the current financial climate, closed in May 2011.

Bingo is now held upstairs in the Liddesdale Hotel on Friday and Sunday evenings start 7.30pm prompt.

Visitors are always welcome to join in.

British Legion Membership Fees still apply:-
